Constantly present in public spaces, alerting objects and visual marks become symbols of control, representations of the authorities, organizing the space and the behavior of individuals.

In my study of public spaces evacuation plans the starting point of following a route to find a safe exit is being taken to an extreme edge – spaces become clotted with anxiety, appear dense like paste or unstable as a mirage. The walls morph into grotesque spines and the corridors resemble monstrous throats and guts.
